Who Knew What Mom Could Do?

So, as a few months had passed by and I was still learning more and more about the many different types of beads, I had gotten into a conversation with my mom about it all. Come to find out, years ago she had taken classes on how to make things with polymer clay. (How cool is that?!?!) So, I suggested she take the hobby up again and make some beads that I could incorporate into my pieces. She thought it was an awesome idea too - we were both soooo excited, as you could imagine. Needless to say, the following day she went to the craft store and stocked up on clay and new tools!

Now, this was just a few short months ago and I must say what an awesome job she has done so far! Check out some of the pictures above of a few things she's made.

Welcome!

Hello All!

I've finally decided to return to the blogging world. Over the past few years I've had some changes of interests and hobbies (as you can tell if you saw my old blog site) - and I'm ready to start sharing them with you.

Towards the end of 2009 (September/October, roughly) I decided to take up a new hobby, I have no idea what even made me begin to find interest in or to research anything new, but I did. Along came my fascination in handmade jewelry.

After spending long hours of research on what's involved and how to start making my own pieces, I must say I never realized how expensive it is to get started. Even for beginner's, to make one piece there are so many different types of beads to use, threads/strings, clasps, tools, etc., etc., etc.

But once you have your initial purchase of the supplies needed, then you will see that you are just buying the beads and other findings you need to make one of a kind pieces. So all in all, it's not so bad.
